The Parents Association
A committee is elected every year. The A.G.M. is held generally in September/October. This committee is very active in supporting the school. The P.T.A. is affiliated to the National Parents Council. All parents are most welcome to become involved.
The council acts in a supportive role to the school.
Parents’ Council committee meets once per month – usually for one hour before the Board of Management meeting. Agenda is sent home one week before meeting and minutes are kept. Council operates its own bank account.
Parents’ representatives on Board of Management provide feedback to each group.
Through the Parents Council the schools receives suggestions, advice and feed-back on policies and procedures within the school.
The recognised steps involved if a difficulty arises are as follows
· Step 1: Contact/inform Class Teacher- if problem is not addressed proceed to
· Step 2: Contact/inform Priomhoide - if problem is not addressed proceed to
· Step 3: Contact /inform Chairperson of Board of Management.
If a parent contacts the Parents Council with a complaint or difficulty he/she will be reminded of the procedure above.
